If you want to grow your profits, I urge you to do 2 things: first, look at how to both distinguish and create a higher value offering. Second, look at how you would change your current offering to highlight only the most valuable areas, minimize or mechanize the low value areas and rid yourself of steps that are marginal in value – redefine it. This can be tremendously rewarding and engaging of your team and gives both hope and promise of future success. If you have tried to cut your way to success I suggest you stop while you still can, take a breath, put away your calculator and unleash the creativity and engagement of your staff. Allow both your team and your profits to soar!
